La Cholita

My acrylic painting is a metamorphosis of the two houses I have lived in, in Peru and Australia. I moved from Lima, Peru to Australia at eight years old. The girl on the Australian sand represents me in traditional Indigenous Cholita clothing, playing in front of my parents’ Peruvian restaurant Olla de Barro. The colonial architecture reflects my memories of Peru and the city and beach scenery reflect my contemporary life.
