Tutor Commitment

In the past, Macomb Literacy Partners asked tutors to complete a twelve-hour training course and commit to a year of service, meeting at least two hours per week with one assigned student.

Today, we are transitioning to a classroom model, which requires less training time for tutors, a shorter commitment period, and produces more reliable gains for the student.

To become a tutor and assist in our adult literacy classroom:

Complete the orientation on this site

Register for and complete a five-hour training class

Commit to working two hours per week in one of our twelve-week sessions (see below for class calendar and current sign-ups per session)
