Exciting news from the Myers/DeWall team

Welcome, Dr. June Gruber!

We are excited to announce that David Myers and Nathan DeWall asked Dr. June Gruber (University of Colorado, Boulder) to join them as co-author on Psychology, 14e (©2024). June is a fantastic addition to the author team--a well-known and highly respected researcher and teacher, whose clinical expertise nicely balances the team. We are eager for you to get to know her by way of Dave's letter, her bio, and these fun, brief videos, which were shot on Dave's Hope College campus! Reach out with any questions.

Bringing more to the Psychology Team

David Myers: "Her networking and mentoring, evident in this Perspectives of Psychological Science article co-authored with 58 other women on 'The Future of Women in Psychological Science', extends our resource pool and our potential outreach."

David Myers: "Her passion for communicating psychological science, enabled by her undergraduate degrees in psychology and English, perfectly matches our mission. Thus, June has supported APS’s enabling psychological scientists to communicate with the public. She has written for the public (e.g., here) about mental health. And she has offered here a series of public interviews with mental health experts and another series with emotion scientists."

“The depth and variety of her research and instruction is inspiring,” Cogswell says. “She comes at her study of mental health from a variety of directions and offers multiple perspectives, insights, and strategies. It’s especially gratifying that her work comes at a time when so many young people need emotional support. I can’t imagine a more deserving recipient.” - Colorado Arts and Sciences Magazine
