Summary of the 2020 Gift Drive

This holiday season, our school is involved in a community service project to help children currently serviced by the Department of Children and Families. This annual gift drive is just one example of our core value of citizenship and kindness here at LMS. This has become a highlight of the holiday season for our staff and students for the last fifteen years. Fortunately, we have found a way to continue this tradition. Today students watched an informational video which featured social workers who spoke to the students about the needs of the families and the Department of Children and Families’ role in supporting them.

Like all things in 2020, this year’s gift drive will be different. Families asked only for gift cards to fit their needs. We hope to be able to continue to show our kindness and generosity in this fashion. Gift cards are specific to the families’ needs. They will be collected carefully at school and sorted to be delivered by the social workers. In place of wrapping gifts, students will have an opportunity in school to create cards with thoughtful messages for our families.

  • If a donation is possible, students are asked to bring their gift cards to their homeroom teachers.

  • If possible please include the monetary amount. This will help us to be equitable when distributing.

  • If students are fully remote, they can arrange drop off by emailing Miss Hazelton at hazeltonp@lynnfield.k12.ma.us

  • All donations should be sent in by Friday, December 18.

Any questions may be addressed to Patricia Hazelton at hazeltonp@lynnfield.k12.ma.us. Thank you for your support in helping our school to reach out to those in need!
