Advisor Assignments

Here are notes on how to assign advisors in Colleague that way the advisor has access to the advisee in myHive. The following offices are responsible for doing this:

• The Office of Academic Advising assigns advisors for incoming undergraduate (UG) students. 

• The Registrar's Office assigns advisors for incoming graduate (GR) and advanced graduate (AG) students. 

• The Registrar’s Office also assigns advisors at the point a student changes their program/major/minor. 

• Department Chairs, Program Directors, and Administrative Coordinators only re-assign advisors, as/if needed.
