By now I imagine you have either settled into a new routine with your kids or are looking for new ways to engage, motivate, and structure your kid's daily routine. If you are interested in scheduling a Zoom meeting with me, please find a time that might work for you on Google Calendar and I will meet with you on this Zoom link:

I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe Spring Break and was able to disconnect from technology for a bit and enjoy the outdoors.
Now that we're over a month into distance learning, I am finding that parents are looking to fine tune what their child's day looks like. If you haven't already, create a daily schedule with your child and display it where your child can refer to it frequently. Focus on areas of difficulty or problematic behaviors that you would like to address. Establish a routine, clarify expectations, implement immediate rewards & appropriate consequences, and most importantly stick to it.
Here's a sample one for ideas:
4.10.20 - 4.19.20
We are almost at the end of our second week of distance learning. I know these are tough times for everyone and I hope you are all safe and healthy. My thoughts are with all of you.
I miss our day to day interactions, our class lessons, our small groups, and individual sessions. I have set up an online google calendar where you can sign up for drop-in sessions via Zoom so that we can touch base, check-in, and stay connected. I hope to see you online in the coming weeks.
The LVUSD elementary counseling team has been working to lay out the groundworks for online counseling support. We have set up appointment slots through Google Calendar and will be meeting with students virtually through Zoom and Google Hangouts.
I will be contacting families for check-ins and to schedule virtual counseling meetings. My thoughts are with all of you, especially with students who may be finding it difficult to cope and adjust.
I am aware that you might be inundated with emails and resources, therefore, I will use this website as a platform for communication, scheduling, and providing resources.
As we make this our new normal, please know that I am here for you and your kids. Please reach out without hesitation and I will do my best to offer support, guidance, and hopefully some peace of mind.
I look forwards to seeing your kids on-line in the coming days.
