Progressive Discipline
If classroom expectations are not being met there is a progression of consequences.
Redirect - a warning to adjust behavior
Sideline - take a break in an area of the room away from distractions; the expectation is that students are still engaged in the lesson and completing work
Reflection - take time to fill out a reflection sheet with the teacher; discuss tools or strategies that may help moving forward
Letter Home - a letter is sent home, requiring parent signature, that informs families of the struggles of the day; offers an opportunity for families to have a dialogue with the student to understand why certain decisions were made, and come up with ways to help
