"The best thing is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. Learning is the only thing the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting."
T. H. White
Welcome students to the school year 2025-2026. I am so excited to be your math teacher this year. Here is a little bit about myself!
My name is Dina Zaklama. I was born and raised in Egypt in English Catholic Schools. I moved to California with my husband and my 3 year old then son in 2003. I have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering , a California single subject mathematics teaching credentials, and a Master's in mathematics education. I taught math overseas in American Missionary schools for 5 years before moving to the States. This starts my 19th year here at LVUSD.....I have 2 kids who are former chargers. My son, Fady, is in his second year of medical school, and my daughter, Kristy, who just graduated AHS last June and is planning to study engineering...In addition to my passion for math and being here at AHS with my colleagues and students, I love spending good time with family and friends and I have a great passion for traveling and seeing new places around the world. We have a little dog named Cuttie. She is a Shih Tzu Lhasa Apso mix.
