As a former GATE student myself, I am passionate about cultivating my students' desire and ability to think critically, not just in an academic setting but in every aspect of life! I earned my undergraduate degree at Pepperdine University (Ayo Waves!) and enjoyed experiencing a different way of life through my time studying abroad in Switzerland.
When I am not teaching, I love to go on hikes, swim in the ocean, or snuggle up with a novel. I am currently reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien!

Please have the following materials ready for class each day:
one college-ruled composition book (no spiral-bound or wide-ruled notebooks please)
one two-pocket folder dedicated to ELA and SS
3-4 different color highlighters
Scotch tape
sharpened pencils
blue/black & a colorful (green, etc.) pen
a pouch to carry your supplies
College-ruled notebook paper
an independent reading book
a gallon Ziplock bag (to protect your book)
charged Acer laptop
wired headphones (not earbuds) that connect to your laptop
A paper or digital organizer to keep track of assignments
your AEW ID card
