Robotics

Advisor: Mrs. Woosnam

Description: We offer a hands-on experience for students interested in designing, building and programming a robot for competition. We compete as Team 9244 in the First Tech Challenge level of FIRST Inspires, a world-wide organization that seeks to prepare today's students for future careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

Typically, our team competes against other New Jersey teams during fall and winter for the opportunity to participate at the World Championships held in the spring. Lenape Valley was the first Sussex County high school to host an FTC meet, and last year hosted the league tournament.

The team also conducts community outreach, fund-raising and marketing activities throughout the year, and welcomes members interested in the business side of the organization.

As a member of Lenape Valley Robotics, students can apply for college scholarships offered by FIRST. Since 2014, Lenape Valley students have qualified for more than $600,000 in scholarship aid to pursue their education in S.T.E.M. fields.

Typical Meeting Times: Until we can meet in person at our workroom at LVHS, we are meeting virtually every Monday at 1 p.m. via Google Meet.
