About Mrs. Brown

About Me

I have two wonderful kids, Mia and Jordan. Mia will be a senior at San Diego State this year and Jordan will start second grade this fall.

My husband Josh is my fave! We love to sit by a lake, roast marshmallows with the kids, and hang out together!

Some of my favorite things:

Drinks: I love iced coffee and Bubbly!

Snacks: I love popcorn, chocolate, and tacos!

Music: Music is my fav! I love to sing and go to shows as often as I can.

Hobbies: I love to sing, watch my daughter dance, and hang with my family!

Why I teach: I had amazing teachers when I was a kid. They impacted me in a positive way and I hope to do that for your kiddos too!

My Education

I graduated from Bear Creek High School and then went to school in San Diego and Stanislaus State. I have a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Special Education from Stanislaus State. I worked as a paraprofessional at Colonial Heights and did my student teaching at John R. Williams. I began teaching full time in 2010 at Stockton Collegiate.

Shortly after completing my first year at JMC, I graduated with my Masters in Education with an emphasis in STEM as well as a MIAA (math instructional added authorization).

My first year at McCandless I taught a wonderful group of third graders. My second and third year were spent in the second grade level with Ms. Murphy as my teaching partner. Moving to first has been wonderful! I am so lucky to work with Ms. Magness and I get work with young kiddos again! I love seeing kids grow and become confident learners.
