“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”- Forest E. Witcraft (TEACHER, SCHOLAR)
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to an exciting new school year! My name is Mrs. Maya Hotwanni, and I’m so happy to be your child’s kindergarten teacher. I’m thrilled to be working alongside Ms. Suzanne Marchant, our wonderful classroom assistant. Together, we’re looking forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, and growth—and we’re honored to be part of your child’s journey.
Kindergarten is a time of incredible development—academically, socially, and emotionally. We’ll spend our days exploring letters and numbers, asking questions, sharing stories, solving problems, and learning how to be kind, curious, and confident members of our classroom community.
In our room, your child will be supported, encouraged, and celebrated for who they are and how they learn. We believe in building a classroom culture rooted in respect, routine, creativity, and connection. Most of all, we want your child to feel safe, seen, and excited to come to school every day.
Throughout the year, we’ll stay in close communication with you about your child’s progress, our classroom activities, and upcoming events. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school helps children thrive, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time with questions or insights.
As we begin this year together, thank you for trusting us with your child. We can’t wait to meet your family and get to know your little learner!
With warmth and excitement,
Mrs. Maya Hotwanni & Ms. Suzanne Marchant
