Creating Accessible Google Documents

  • Use Verdana (or Arial as alternate)
  • Title of document
    • Text - Verdana or Arial
    • Text size - 24
    • Spacing
      • single spaced
      • remove spaces before and after paragraph
    • Continue to use bold for emphasis - the Title text will be read by screen reader
  • Body of document
    • Text - Verdana or Arial
    • Text size - body 12
    • Use header 1, 2, 3 as needed
      • Don’t use color or capitalization to distinguish
    • Limit use of bold or italics
  • Use Page Setup to change margins to create single paged documents whenever possible
