Class Overview
Luna Community College is partnering with Cornerstones Community Partnerships to offer a new Adobe Construction class starting September 2024, spanning four sections until June 2025. Students will gain hands-on experience in adobe mud mixing, brick laying, and traditional finishing methods. The class emphasizes environmental benefits and cultural heritage preservation of adobe homes in New Mexico.

Earn certificate of completion and gain hands-on experience in adobe mud mixing, brick laying, and traditional techniques.

Promote New Mexico's rich cultural heritage and architectural traditions while preserving traditional building techniques passed down through generations.
Enhance energy efficiency due to natural insulation properties and the use of voltaic panels.
Utilize sustainable building material with minimal environmental impact.
Learn how to design home to be fireproof/fire resistant.
Obtain free construction documents, including documentation of the house building.
$3200 full course or $800 per module
25% off for San Miguel, Mora, Guadalupe, and Colfax County students
*Must complete full course in order to qualify for certification.

Class Rules & Dress Code:
Safety is the highest priority for the class. Provide contact person in case of injury.
Bring notebook and pen to take notes.
Steel toed boots, hard hat, work gloves, long pants, work shirts, sun-screen, dust masks and goggles.
