Secretaries
Social Workers evaluate a child's developmental history, home environment and acts as a liaison between the home, school, community and outside service agencies. The School Social Worker works closely with parents in providing support for the child and family.
Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultants (LDTC) assess a child's academic levels, learning needs and strengths and transfers specific instructional techniques to classroom teachers through consultation and collaboration with the parents, teachers, and student, if appropriate. The Learning Consultant helps develop programs to work with teachers and parents regarding effective teaching and learning strategies at home and in school.
School Psychologists determine a child's intellectual and social/emotional functioning and works with students individually and in a group setting. The School Psychologist help develop programs to target appropriate behaviors and strategies to use at home and in school.
Speech and Language Therapists screen and evaluate children in order to determine their current speech and language development. For children who are eligible, the Speech and Language Specialist provides services, prepares written diagnostic reports and is a resource person to parents, teachers and administrators.
Occupational Therapists support a student’s ability to participate in desired daily school activities. School occupational therapists support academic and non-academic outcomes, including social skills, math, reading and writing (i.e., literacy), behavior management, recess, participation in sports, self-help skills, prevocational/vocational participation, transportation, and more.
Physical Therapists design and perform therapeutic interventions, including compensation, remediation and prevention strategies and adaptations, focusing on functional mobility and safe, efficient access and participation in educational activities and routines in natural learning environments.
