Task Analyses

A task analysis breaks down a sequence into smaller, incremental steps to ensure that all parts of the process are learned. Providing visual aids such as a written checklist or pictures of each step in the sequence may further assist students with learning complex tasks.

A task analysis can be used to learn a variety of daily living and academic skills. For example:

• solving equations

• writing essays
