Course aim

I ) Through the understanding and application of scientific concepts and principles, students will acquire the science-related learning experiences and knowledge.

II ) Cultivate students’ own ability to explore and solve problems so that the students are able to

participate in the rapidly changing knowledge-based society.

III ) Help students to apply the knowledge learnt in Integrated Science in daily life.

IV ) To develop the responsibility of students as a citizen so that they know their role in environmental protection and the use of resources.

The purposes of this course are to enable students to:

• cultivate their curiosity and interest in science;

• cultivate their ability to explore and solve problems;

• construct and apply the scientific knowledge so to understand the relationship between science and other fields;

• equip with basic scientific knowledge and concepts which can be applied in daily life;

• master the scientific exploration skills;

• acquire an ability to think rationally and critically, as well as issues related to the application of

science and scientific knowledge to solve problems;

• understand the usefulness and limitations of science, the interaction of science, technology and society;

• establish an open, objective and proactive attitude;

• develop their sense of responsibility, know how to care for the environment and use of resources.
