Raider Music:

Music We Make

Mission Statement:

It's a crazy time. We've been forced to isolate ourselves from each other in order to keep the world safe. We find ourselves needing to learn in different ways, shut off from our friends and family. Our human need for collaboration and creation is set upon by. It's easy to feel alone.

In the thick of it all, we believe that the need to connect with our fellow humans is essential, and that music is one of humanity's oldest and most powerful means of providing that connection, a lifeline connecting generations, cultures, and communities the world over. It is with this belief that we offer up this website as a place for members of our school community to share music that has had an impact on us with each other.

Here on Raider Music: Music We Make, we'll be featuring music created by members of our community. It doesn't need to be fancy. It doesn't need to be perfect. It doesn't have to be polished, or even complete. Just have fun and share your music!

Submissions: Have you made some music you'd like to share? Simply email Ms. Chris and/or Mr. Gagnon with the following:

  • A video or Youtube link of the music you made. (Youtube links are preferred, but a video file will do the trick as well.)
  • Write a little bit to tell us about the music you made.

As always, feel free to let us know if you have any questions:

How Could I Ever Know? - by Grace Chris

This song is from The Secret Garden, a musical composed by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon. Of course, the musical is based on the cherished children's story by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Believe it or not, I was in a production of this musical right at Stowe Town Hall in the summer of 2014! Maybe some of you saw it?? I played Lily, and to this day, the musical and that role remain one of my favorites I have ever done. I decided to sing this song because it always feels so good to sing and it brings back wonderful memories of being in the show. Enjoy!

Great Movie Medley - by Mateo Fernandez-Cowen

The Great Movie Medley!! Can you guess what movie themes I played? I hope you enjoy listening to my music.

A capella drums - by Andy Gagnon

Mrs. Gagnon and I live in an apartment building, so I usually get my drumset practice time in at school. With the school closed, I've dragged my old (like, REALLY old) electric kit out of storage. It has some fun sounds I've been messing around with. The setting in this video is all beatbox style sounds.

If you're bored and looking for something fun to do, feel free to steal this beat and layer your own stuff on top of it!
