Overview:  Students will evaluate major federal programs, departments, or functions that will be impacted by the current government shutdown.

Purpose:  Students will evaluate the impact of the current government shutdown at the national level.

Process Steps:  

1. Create a Google Document in your Contemporary Issues Share Folder titled: "Last Name - Assignment 5"

2. At the top of the Google Document, place the title "Assignment 5 - US Government Shutdown."

3. Students will research ten (10) major government programs, departments, or functions of the federal government (NOT THE MILITARY)

4. Students will rank-order what they feel are the top ten most impacted government functions

5. For each government function, students will A) Give the name of the program, B) Describe the purpose of the program, and C) Explain why the current government shutdown is so impactful on it.

6. Students need to write a minimum of 50 words per government function

7. TOTAL POINTS. (40 points)
