Overview:  Students will examine the the major events that of occurred between January 1, 2025 and August 20, 2025.

Purpose:  Students will be able to evaluate what they consider the most-impactful events, so far, during the current year of 2025. 

Process Steps:  

1. Create a Google Document in your Contemporary Issues Share Folder titled: "Last Name - Assignment 1"

2. At the top of the Google Document, place the title "Assignment 1 - Year of 2025"

3. Students will create a list of the top fifteen (15) events so far this school year.  Each event shall be a unique event that is covered by no other student in class.

4. All students shall collaborate when working on this list

5. After creating the list, each student shall write a summary of each subject that is no more than 280 characters each, in the style of Twitter (or "X")

6. Each summary should be thorough, explaining the date(s), location, and summary of the event (importance).

7. Each summary should be located on their Google Doc for the assignment

8. Each summary states a fact and NOT an opinion

9. When the assignment has been completed by all students, the events shall be ordered by importance as determined by the class.
