Last October 1, 2024, Lourdes School of Mandaluyong (LSM) held its annual Teachers’ Day event. Spearheaded by the High School Student Government, this program was held to celebrate and to honor the efforts of our teachers.
A high school-wide program was held at 7:30 am in the High School General Assembly area. There were dance performances by the Student Government and song numbers performed by the band “Lights Out”. Games were also held with teachers competitively participating in “Siomai, Siopao, Suman”.
This event was held to show appreciation and support towards LSM teaching personnel. This event was also made to entertain the staff members watching nearby.
Recognitions were also given to commemorate the teachers who deserved titles such as the “Early Bird”, “Walking Dictionary”, and “Sunshine.”
LSM also held its student mentoring day on October 3, 2024. This allowed Lourdesians, selected by teachers, to experience what it is like to be a teaching personnel in LSM. Student mentors had the same teaching schedule as the teachers had that Thursday, further modeling the experience of being a teacher.
This also spanned the whole high school population with selected students becoming subject or guidance coordinators.
While the students took over for the day, the teachers were treated with complimentary food and drinks, courtesy of the Student Government. This lasted the whole day with the afternoon being dedicated to a class program for the teachers. Here, the students were able to give gifts and show their appreciation to their advisers and co-advisers.
