MANDALUYONG CITY — The Lourdes School of Mandaluyong Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) convened parents and teachers for its Annual General Assembly on Saturday, July 18, at the Saint Francis Theater, presenting its accomplishments, financial updates, and new programs for the school community.

The assembly opened with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass presided over by School Rector Rev. Fr. Cesar F. Acuin, OFM Cap., who underscored the importance of genuine Gospel brotherhood and the shared responsibility of parents and teachers in forming Lourdesians into men of excellence, integrity, and Christian character.

Following the Mass, the PTA Board of Directors, headed by PTA President Mrs. Melinda V. Macaranas, was formally introduced.

PTA Treasurer Mrs. Grace D. Vives then presented the association’s financial report, highlighting that the organization had eliminated more than ₱168,000 in accumulated debt from the previous academic year, making the PTA debt-free for the first time in over 13 years. She also noted that the association began the current school year with funds 45 percent lower than those of the previous academic year.

The association also introduced several partnerships with non-government organizations and private institutions aimed at expanding student support services.

Among the initiatives launched was MindScapes, a mental health program designed to strengthen students’ emotional well-being through accessible psychological support and wellness initiatives.

The PTA likewise announced its partnership with AXA Philippines, providing Student Personal Accident Insurance that covers accidents occurring during school hours, including food and gas poisoning, animal bites, accidental drowning, accidental death, and permanent disability, with benefits varying according to the severity of the incident.

In line with the school’s internationalization efforts, the Office of Student Activites (OSA) introduced the Lourdesian Global Immersion and Exchange Program (LGIEP) for Senior High School students. The inaugural immersion is scheduled for late November 2026 and will bring participating students to Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Wuzhen, China, exposing them to educational institutions and technological innovations.

School administrators also announced that an Internationalization Program involving partner universities abroad will be presented during the first-quarter Parent-Teacher Conference.

To provide greater financial flexibility for families, representatives from BPI introduced the BPI FamBank Bundle Pamilyang Level Up School Program, which offers payment solutions and banking services tailored to school-related expenses.

The annual gathering served as a venue for strengthening collaboration between the school and parents while introducing programs that support the academic, personal, and holistic development of Lourdesians.
