With the theme, “Koinonia: A fellowship of Christian leaders for peace, impact, and change,” the High School Student Government (HSSG) of Lourdes School of Mandaluyong (LSM) conducted the annual Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) at St. Francis Theater from September 24 to 25 for homeroom and club officers.
The High School Student Government (HSSG), along with selected students, organized the Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) for two days.
Student leaders from Grades 7 to 12, including homeroom and club officers, attended their scheduled event.
Koinonia refers to Christian fellowship in a collective effort for contribution. The HSSG made this the theme for the LTS Academic Year (AY) 2025 to 2026. Reflecting on the meaning of service, student leaders from Grades 7 to 12 attended the event and participated actively. Homeroom officers had their LTS on September 24. Club officers had their LTS the next day.
Mr. EJ Dalmacio was invited was the guest speaker for homeroom officers. He shared personal leadership experiences.
The HSSG recognized Mr. EJ Dalmacio for sharing his insights on student leadership in light of the core thrusts of the school.
To enlighten students on the school values, the HSSG invited Mr. EJ D. Dalmacio, a Filipino teacher, and Mrs. Barbara C. Lumanog, the former Office for Student Activities (OSA), as guest speakers for September 24 and 25, respectively. The core values of the HSSG, namely, Student Service, Social Solidarity, and School Spirit, were emphasized at the event.
Mrs. Barbara Lumanog was invited as the guest speaker for club officers. She shared her insights on the true essence of leadership.
The HSSG recognized Mrs. Lumanog for sharing her time and knowledge with the participants of the LTS.
To foster collaboration between homeroom and club officers, HSSG officers held team-building activities after the first health break, such as games and class or club planning.
Students participated in party games or teambuilding activities, organized by the HSSG.
Homeroom and club officers also participated in class wall preparation or operational planning.
With this year’s theme, Koinonia, the objective of the LTS was to remind student leaders of the responsibilities entrusted to them. Leadership does not stop at a title. It persists through labels and translates into acts of service. It is imbued with integrity expressed in Gospel Brotherhood; humility embodied in Marian Spirituality; and service manifested in Christian Leadership.
Responsibility is the heart of leadership, said Mr. Dalmacio. Leadership puts forward the general welfare, may it be class or club, above one’s own. True Christian leaders are called to serve not only friends, but also the whole community.
