Lourdes School of Mandaluyong (LSM) officially started face-to-face classes on July 15, 2025, holding subject and institutional orientations, launching various initiatives, and welcoming the whole school community for Academic Year (A.Y.) 2025-2026.
LSM administrators led the morning ceremony last July 15, 2025, at the high school general assembly area to mark the start of A.Y. 2025-2026.
Mr. Peter Patrick Garcia, the High School Principal, provided a reflection on the value for the week, Gospel Brotherhood, during the general assembly.
Lourdesian masters sang the "Lourdes Forever," the school's anthem, for the first time in A.Y. 2025-2026.
The day opened with a morning ceremony at the high school general assembly area led by LSM administrators. The value for the week led by Mr. Peter Patrick Garcia, the High School Principal, placed a renewed emphasis on one of the school's thrusts, Gospel Brotherhood. In addition, administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel were recognized and welcomed on stage.
HSSG Welcoming Program
The High School Student Government (HSSG) prepared a welcoming program, “Lourdesian 101,” at St. Francis Theater. The welcoming program for Grades 7-9 was held after health break 1 (HB1), while the program for Grades 10-12 was held after health break 2 (HB2).
Lourdesians received free ice cream (sorbetes) from the High School Student Government (HSSG) as a part of its initiatives.
Mr. Leo Jachin Labadnoy, as a SOL teacher, provides his talk on Lourdesian values for Grades 7-9.
Students from Grades 7-9 had their welcoming program "Lourdesian 101" after health break 1. Students and teachers participated in the activities of the event.
Mr. Leo Jachin Labadnoy, a Social Studies teacher and Son of Lourdes ‘86, held a talk for Grades 7-9. Mr. Ruben Joseph Bautista, a Music teacher and Son of Lourdes ‘05, held the talk for Grades 10-12. Both teachers talked about Lourdesian culture. In addition, the HSSG prepared games and other activities to promote brotherhood and other values among Lourdesian masters, old and new.
During health breaks 1 and 2, the HSSG prepared free ice cream (sorbetes) for the community.
Mr. Ruben Bautista, as a SOL teacher, provides his talk on Lourdesian culture for Grades 10-12.
The High School Student Government (HSSG) provided Mr. Ruben Bautista a certificate of appreciation as a guest speaker.
Students from Grades 10-12 participated in the activities of the event.
Online Class and Pre-Opening Activity
In addition, LSM started online classes on July 14, 2025. Students from the High School Department received orientations on various school offices including the Safety and Security Office, the Guidance Center, and the Campus Ministry. Students also met some of their subject teachers.
Last July 10, 2025, the Lourdesian community held its first pre-opening activity entitled “Gear Up: Ready, Set, and Learn!” This online meet-and-greet served as a way for students to get to know one another, along with their class advisers and co-advisers. It also served as a preparation for the academic year.
This theme for A.Y. 2025-2026 is “Valuing the Franciscan Spirit through Lourdesian Education and Capuchin Formation,” under the five-year theme “Incarnating the Franciscan Spirit through Lourdesian Education and Capuchin Formation.”
