For 43 years, the La Salle Green Hills Alternative Education, which was formerly known as Adult Night High School, is the manifestation of the De La Salle Brothers’ mission to provide Christian and quality education to our marginalized brothers and sisters, who are 16 years old and above. The department offers Junior High School, Senior High School, Alternative Learning System, and Technical-Vocational Education Training programs. Classes are held from 5:30 to 9:00 in the evening. Since its founding in 1978, the programs that Alternative Education offers continue to open doors of opportunities and change the lives of our students through the committed and compassionate works of the De La Salle Brothers.

With the conviction that everyone has the right to education, the Alternative Education of La Salle Green Hills established an educational program for the Deaf. The school believes that the Deaf have talents and skills and thus deserve to be given equal opportunity to improve themselves. The Program for Deaf Learners which began in the school year 2003-2004 is a mainstream system that allows Deaf learners to fully participate in classroom discussions and school activities together with the Hearing students. Aside from their Homeroom Advisers and Subject Teachers, the Deaf are also assisted by their Sign Language Interpreters, Guidance Counselor and the Moderator for the Program for Deaf Learners. This ensures the holistic formation and rights-based accommodation that each Deaf Learner truly deserves. Since its establishment in 2003, the Program has produced graduates who are now successful professionals and/or productively contributing to the country’s workforce.

Voluminous stories of struggles and success now fill the walls of the school; life-stories of its graduates who, from their humble beginnings have risen to the ranks of professionals, entrepreneurs or those who have successfully joined the workforce. Oh what joy to see how they have consequently improved the quality of their lives! As the school continues its ministry of teaching minds, touching hearts and transforming lives, the Alternative Education expresses deep gratitude to the De La Salle Brothers, whose zeal for the mission never wavered, to the generous men and women who selflessly shared their time, talent and treasure to support the school’s advocacies and above all, to God Almighty whose presence continuously propels the school to tirelessly spread the Good News.
