BIO

27 yrs of teaching, 20 in LPS and my third year at Newton....Yay!!  I'm excited to be the new STEM teacher and I look forward to creating a learning environment that fosters creativity, collaboration and inclusion as students learn new skills related to woodworking and digital design. An additional emphasis will be placed on behaviors related to the CODE (Caring, Open Minded, Disciplined and Engaged) as well as Safety Protocols associated with various wood work machinery.

I am a science geek at heart and have spent most of my career in education teaching middle school science. I'm also a big fan of using technology as an effective learning tool in the classroom and I fully support the use of "hands-on" activities and projects to support the standards related to STEM curriculum.

My wife is Jesse Andrews and she is the Art teacher here at Newton. My oldest son is a Junior at CU in Boulder and my younger son is a Senior at Arapahoe HS. I really enjoy spending time outdoors, being in the mountains, snowboarding, watching hockey and spending time with my mostly "normal" family :)
