Welcome!

"Private Comment" on Google Classroom, or Gmail (for non-assignment related questions) are the best ways to get in contact with me. I will try to respond to all course-related private comments or emails within 24 hours (really), but also remember that life can be busy and chaotic for everyone (including me!), so if I don’t respond right away, don’t worry!

Bienvenidos! Shalom! Wilkommen!

This is my sixth year teaching at Euclid Middle School and my 13th year of teaching. My students' successes are my greatest achievement! I have also enjoyed getting to be a part of helping students develop their talents in our Euclid Musical Theatre Program, Sources of Strength, Geography Bee, Brain Bowl, WEB, and Track.

I have lived in Colorado for 17 years but I am originally from sunny San Diego, CA. My son, Eliot, is almost 6 years old and my "baby", Julian is 3 years old! Our family is having so much fun this year learning to read, and Julian is learning how to sleep in a big kid bed! I also enjoy hiking, camping, yoga, biking, swimming, singing and playing the piano, dance, art, music, cooking, and traveling! Thank you for sharing your families and hearts with me in Social Studies. I'm so excited to get to know you!

What is Social Science? In the social sciences, researchers use scientific inquiry methods to study societies. Social scientists often work closely with natural scientists (biology, ecology, etc.) in order to understand how societies interact with the earth's environment.

  • Topics: Eastern Hemisphere area studies: geography, history, economics & civics.

  • Adventures: In this class we study regional units called "Adventures". Students get the chance to study authentic issues and investigate like professional social scientists.

  • Class Culture: In social studies we often come across topics about which students have passionate opinions. I encourage all my students to engage in thoughtful and respectful intellectual discussions as part of a safe, welcoming, and empowering class environment. Tolerance and respect are very important in my class.
