About me...

Education/Experience:

I have been a special education teacher since 1998.  I started my career at Rangeview High School for 2 years and came to Newton Middle School in 2000.  I received my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/Spanish with an endorsement in Special Education from Dordt College in Sioux Center Iowa. I also have a Masters Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix.

Family:

I was born and raised in this amazing state (actually about 2 blocks from Newton).  I have a wonderful and supportive family.  My husband of 27 years, is originally from Canada and together we have three children...Dylan, Brandon and Kaleigh.  My family is God's greatest gift to me!

Adventures and Interests:

I love the great outdoors and enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, skiing, and visiting mountain towns.  Most years, my family and I take a trip to Northern Ontario, where we love spending time fishing and taking in the beautiful sites.  My family is also fanatical about hockey.  We love the Colorado Avalanche and all three of my kids play and referee hockey.  Most weekends, you can find us at the rink!
