About me/Why I teach:
I grew up in Colorado and graduated from Highlands Ranch High School. I attended University of Wyoming and earned a BA in Math Education. After college I moved to California and took my first teaching job at Newport Harbor High School. A year and a half later, wanting to return home and be closer to my family, I accepted a job at Arapahoe High School. After moving back to Colorado, I met my husband and taught at AHS for 14 years. After 14 years, I decided to stay home with my 3 small kids. After staying home for 5 years, I returned to the classroom at Bear Creek High School in 2019. With three kids in three different schools, my husband and I decided working full time was not for me. So when AHS had a part-time job open up, I was thrilled to be back! This is my 20th year of teaching, 18 at AHS. I have one kiddo at University of Northern Arizona, one at Mountain Vista High School and one at Mountain Ridge Middle School.
Why do I teach?
I teach because I believe an education is very important. I love math and I hope to instill my excitement about it in my students. I love the high school level because you can really get to know them and hopefully have a positive impact on them.
