In our classroom, relevance is key. Students are empowered to build knowledge and understanding through their learning experiences, continually asking why this matters to them, to this place, and to the world. We explore intersecting identities (cultural, local, national, global) and their effects on what and how we learn. Our class motto: Adventure-Minded, Kind-Hearted
Littleton Public Schools' Portrait of a Graduate embodies who we want our students to be, and encapusulates the opportunities all LPS educators strive to provide for every child, every day. It includes many fundamental tenets of global education, including Global/Cultural Awareness.
The Study section provides information on the "what" and "why" of global education. It includes organizations and resources available to further your learning of how to help students become global citizens.
The Teach section includes local and global instructional resources to use with students, along with recommended ready-to-use lessons and units.
The Travel section summarizes experiences and learning from my international field experience in Ghana in the summer of 2024, organized around direct quotes from the people I encountered and what they taught me about education and culture.
