Arapahoe Climbing Club

Welcome Climbers!!!

About Us...

Our club was started in 2016 as a way to bring together students from different backgrounds at Arapahoe High School who share a common passion... rock climbing!!! We welcome climbers from beginners to experts and from social to competitive.

Meetings...

The club does not hold regular meetings at Arapahoe since we do not have a rock wall. We will hold a meeting in mid to late October to have new members meet existing members, and for new climbers to learn the basics of knot tying and belaying. After that climbers from the club will meet and climb at Earth Treks in Englewood on a regular basis.

Competitions...

Any club member is welcome to climb at a competition. Individual climbers will be responsible for their own entry fees, registering with the American Scholastic Climbing League, and fulfilling the gym requirements. (examples: belay/lead climbing certification, completing parental permission/waiver forms, etc...)

Competitions...

  • Dates are posted on the calendar to the right
  • Details can be found linked from the competition page for by using the "2018-2019 Competitions" tab above

State...

  • In order to qualify for the State Comp a climber must climb at a minimum of 4 regular season comps. Additionally...
    • The top 3 scoring male and female climbers in the regular season in the DenSE Region will receive an automatic invitation to the State Comp.
    • The top 32 male and top 32 female climbers in the regular season will be invited to the Regional Comp. The DenSE region can send 16 male and 16 female climbers to the State Comp. If the 3 automatic qualifiers do not compete at the Regional, then the top 13 male and top 13 female climbers at the Regional Comp will qualify for State. If the 3 automatic qualifiers compete at the Regional Comp then the top 16 male and female climbers from the Regional Comp will qualify for State (and the automatic qualifiers must also finish in the top 16 or they lose their automatic State qualification).
