ACP Dual Credit
Indiana University - Bloomington
DUAL Credit PARTNERSHIP THROUGH INDIANA UNIVERSITY
Students who have solid academic preparation and a desire for more advanced work and college-level rigor are good candidates for dual credit courses through IU-Bloomington's ACP program.
The college credits earned in dual credit courses are separate credits from credits earned in AP classes. There is no overlap in dual credit classes with other AP courses. Students taking ACP dual credit courses will receive an IU Bloomington transcript which is accepted at most colleges and universities throughout the country. College credit transfers with a grade of "C" or better. Here is a list of colleges that recent LPHS alumni have reported accepted college credits from their IU-Bloomington ACP dual credit courses.
Students must have a GPA of 2.70 on a 4.0 scale or higher or a GPA of 3.38 on a 5.0 scale or higher in order to be eligible for dual credit courses. Some courses have qualifying test scores and coursework requirements.
Students are subject to IU's policies regarding attendance, late work, and academic dishonesty.
If students choose to take courses for college credit, the tuition cost to IU will be $25 per semester hour (plus a $156 out-of-state fee) and will be payable directly to the IU Bursar's Office. (i.e., $231 total for 3 college credits). (1st-semester students may access and pay their IU account through IU Canvas in November; 2nd-semester students may access and pay their IU account through IU Canvas in April).
Tuition is waived for students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch and/or fee waivers at Lake Park. Students may also apply for financial assistance through the Lake Park Education Foundation (LPEF).
Students may enroll in dual credit courses for high school credit only. There is no fee for taking the course for high school credit only. However, students must be enrolled for college credit in the first few weeks of the class. There is no retroactive enrollment or awarding of college credit.
Transcript requests must be made directly by the individual student to Indiana University-Bloomington upon completion of the course.
Qualifying for and/or taking an ACP dual credit course does not guarantee admission to IU Bloomington.
