School Counselor

My name is Lisa Havard and this is my 20th year as the School Counselor at Clyattville Elementary School. I hold both a Masters Degree and Education Specialist Degree in School Counseling from Valdosta State University. My husband and I have three grown children in addition to four precious grandchildren.

At CES I work with all of our students when teaching classroom guidance lessons. These lessons are designed to help students become their best selves. Students participate in the Second Step Curriculum. These lessons include topics related to study skills, getting along with others, understanding emotions, and personal safety. In addition, students are introduced to Career Clusters as they begin to think about their futures.

My training also allows me to work with students who are having difficulties in personal/social areas, with their academics and some emotional difficulties. After working with a student, if I find they maybe in need of more intensive services I will be happy to provided a list of local clinical therapists and/or help with the referral process. My goal is to help all of our students reach their personal best.

Finally, I am also available to assist families who are concerned about their children through consultation with both guardians and the teachers.
