Emily graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. In 2016, she received her Master's degree in Music Education from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois. Her time as an undergraduate was spent performing in many ensembles including marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, clarinet choir, and concert choir. As an undergraduate assistant for both band and orchestra, Emily helped organize and run the Southern Illinois Summer Music Festival and the Southern Illinois Heartland Honor Band. While a member of the Southern Illinois Wind Ensemble the group was invited to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Mrs. Griffin’s performing ensembles consistently receive high ratings and comments at contests and festivals. In 2017, she was invited and honored to be asked to conduct the Southern Illinois University High School Band Camp week.

Emily currently resides in Moultrie, Georgia with her wonderful husband Zack and stepson Graham. In her free time Emily enjoys running, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
