All About

Ms. Cook

I am so excited about the opportunity to work with your child this year.  I was born and raised in Thomasville, Georgia. (Go Jackets!) I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Thomas College in 1999.  My first three years of teaching were at Cox Elementary School.  The rest of my teaching career has been in the Lowndes County school system.  I received both my Masters and Educational Specialist degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Curriculum and Instruction.  I have earned the Gifted Endorsement and the ESOL Endorsement. I honored to be named PME 2005-2006 Teacher of the Year and WES 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year.

I enjoy learning and trying new things.  I often joke that my hobby is looking for a new hobby.  I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, camping, sewing, and traveling.  The way I travel is on mission trips.  I love going on mission trips because you get to see knew places, but you really get to interact with the local people.  I have had the privilege to teach VBS in Nevada; rebuild homes in New Orleans, help at the Salmon Frenzy in Alaska, work at Orphanage Emmanuel in Honduras and help at Mission Thome in Kenya.    What I love most, no matter where in the world you go all children are children. They act the same.  They all need someone to love, encourage, teach and support them.  Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to love, encourage, teach, and support your precious child this year.
