Mrs. Tucker's

LEAP Class

Who is Mrs. Tucker?

Teaching is a second career for me, but it is the place where I feel that I am finally at home. I believe that every child can learn and that every child has a right to be taught in the way that they learn best. As teachers and staff at Westside we are each responsible in some small way for the education of every child that enters the front door.

I graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC with my B.A. in Drama in 1990. I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Valdosta State University in May of 2007 and began teaching at Dewar Elementary in the Fall of 2007. I taught at Dewar until accepting a position at Westside Elementary School beginning with the 2015-16 school year. This is my 4th year as the LEAP teacher at Westside, and I am excited about the possibilities of our class!

I have two children who both have attended Lowndes County Schools from Pre-K/Kindergarten on. My daughter is in the nursing program at VSU and my son will be a Senior at Lowndes High School. I am proud to be a small part of the Lowndes County School System!

Your child is the reason I love my job!

Please feel free to contact me at any time by email with questions, concerns, or suggestions.
