All About Mrs. Fortner
I was born and raised in Tifton, GA and was a member of Chorus from 6th grade until I graduated from Tift County High School. In Tift County, I performed with both concert choir and show choir, and I participated in the GMEA All-State Chorus event from seventh grade on. After graduating from Tift County, I attended Shorter College in Rome, GA and obtained my degree in Music Education. Being in a Chorus program has afforded me several opportunities over the years. I have sung for the President of the United States, been to California, Washington, D.C., New York, and various other states, and have even traveled to Italy to sing at the Vatican! Since I started teaching in 2010, I have taught both middle and high school (grades 6-12). My husband, Mr. Fortner is also a music educator and is currently pursuing his PhD in Music Education at Florida State University. We have one son, Fox. I am so excited to share my passion for music with you!
