Hello! My name is Amy Mackey, and I am excited to be teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) and Early Intervention Program (EIP) this year. I have been teaching for 18 years, with experience across first grade, kindergarten, English as a Second Language (ESOL), and Early Intervention Programs (EIP). I hold a Master’s in Reading Education, an ESOL Endorsement, a Math Endorsement, and a Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership.
I believe every child enters the classroom with unique strengths, background experiences, and potential. My goal as an educator is to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to explore, take risks, and grow. By grounding my practice in evidence-based instruction, I tailor my teaching to meet students where they are—building confidence, sparking curiosity, and cultivating a lifelong love of learning.
I am married to Lee Mackey and have four wonderful children: Shelton, Mac, Bailey, and Morgan. We also have two four-legged babies, Mae and Gus, and two farm cats, Tom and Jerry.
