Greetings!
I am privileged to work with the first grade children at the Carl T. Mitnick School. I have worked in the district for 38 years, first as a Teacher and then as a School Counselor. I am delighted to work with the Mitnick staff, as well as with the young children and their families. I tell the children that my job at school is to help everyone have a happy day. I am located in Room A10, the Sunshine Room!
I am also the Homeless Liaison for the district. I am the contact person if you ever have a housing crisis or need housing resources.

Miss Karen Wadding and her therapy dogs, Morgan and Annie, who are certified by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs as a Pet Therapy Team, are volunteers that are an integral part of the Mitnick School counseling program. They visit first grade classes each month. They spend time with individual children one day each week. Morgan and Annie help reduce anxiety, listen as children read to them, encourage appropriate actions, regulate emotions, foster language and bring greater joy to the day for children and staff.
The first grade School Counselor, Julia Sangillo, and her Golden Retriever, Daisy, visit with first grade classes and children each Thursday. They are also a certified Pet Therapy Team through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
