Lesson Calendar for the 1st - 6 weeks:

  1. Identify the difference between Rational and Irrational Numbers.

  2. Classify the Rational Numbers within the Real Number Diagram.

  3. Approximate the value of an Irrational Number and it's location on a number line.

  4. Order a set of Real Numbers from either least to greatest or greatest to least.

  5. Identifying a Mean Absolute Deviation.

  6. Identifying Standard Form and Scientific Notation.

Lesson Calendar for the 2nd 6-weeks:

  1. Set up an equation given a word problem.

  2. Use the distributive property to solve equations.

  3. Solving equations with variables on both sides.

  4. Solving special types of equations.

Lesson Calendar for the 3rd 6-weeks:

  1. Solving, graphing and writing inequalities.

  2. Solving and graphing linear equations.

  3. Identifying solutions to simultaneous equations.

  4. Identifying Functions.

  5. Identifying Slope using Rise and Run

  6. Identifying Slope as a unit rate or rate of change

  7. Identifying x and y intercepts AND using slope intercept form to write an equation.

Lesson Calendar for the 4th 6-weeks:

  1. Identify a direct variation.

  2. Identify Proportional and Non-Proportional Relationships.

  3. Identify scatter plots and trend lines to make predictions.

  4. Using the Pythagorean Theorem

  5. Identifying Translations, Reflections, Rotations, and Dilations.

  6. Identify which Transformations preserve congruence and which do not.

A little bit about me..... I graduated from Midway High School and then went to MCC, where I received my associates degree. I then transferred to UTSA in San Antonio, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Health Education with a minor in Mathematics. I am married and have 2 children. My husband, Charlie, is retired but takes care of the the athletic complexes in the Midway ISD. My children both graduated from Lorena High School. My son, Chase graduated from Texas State University and is now a teacher/coach in the Katy ISD school district. He is married and now we have a wonderful daughter in law, Becca. They are expecting a baby girl in December. I will be a grandmother!! My daughter, Carly graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and is also a teacher/coach in the Katy ISD school district. This is my 13th year at Lorena MS but my 32nd year teaching in total years. I am looking forward to the school year and thank you for sharing your children with me.
