Hi, my name is Ms. Rose and I am thrilled to be teaching your 8th grader this year! This is my third year at Long Branch Middle School, but I have been teaching since 2018. I graduated Georgian Court University with a Bachelors Degree in elementary education and psychology, with an endorsement in special education and mathematics. I then spent the first years of my career as a special education teacher for K-12 students before my passion for mathematics led me to this position at LBMS in 2023.
I am a firm believer that establishing strong interpersonal relationships with students drives their love of learning. With this in mind, I focus strongly on building connections, collaborative learning, mutual respect, and meeting students where they are. I have found that in practicing these pillars, students are more likely to succeed, and even more likely to enjoy the learning process.
My goal as a math teacher is to help students understand the importance and relevance of math in daily life, while also helping them to expand on problem-solving and critical thinking skills that they can use for years to come. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns throughout the year!
