Storyboarding in Game Design
Create Your Own Storyboard
Pick a commercial or indie game that you are familiar with. The game should be 2D or have fixed camera perspective. For this game draw all three storyboards listed below.
Draw a storyboard (3 images minimum) for an example of non-embodied action in the game.
(meaning not a character but an object)
Draw a single-paneled (1 image only) storyboard showing embodied action with movement lines.
(character not an object)
Draw a multipaneled storyboard (9 panels/box/images{See Below}) showing the player overcoming a challenge.
You will be graded on how well each of the storyboards conveys the action that you chose. You will not be graded on drawing ability for this assignment. No stick figures will be accepted. You will describe the content of the storyboard images on the same page in a text box, and that will be used to evaluate your work.
You may use captions within the storyboards, but we want your captions to be terse (short). Do not use more than a single sentence per panel. Right now we want to see how much action you can convey visually.
