Mrs. Larson's Music Room

What if the Hokey-Pokey is really what it's all about?

About me...

Hello! I have been a music specialist at Lockwood School since 1999. I started as a K-2 specialist and have been teaching K-5 for the last 6 years. Beginning in September of 2019, I will again be a K-2 specialist.

Education: I have a Master of Music degree from the University of Idaho, where I studied flute performance and taught undergraduate music majors. I also have a Master of Education degree from Montana State University-Billings where I was an adjunct instructor in the music department. I taught flute pedagogy, elementary music methods, and applied flute.

Performance: I have been a member of the flute section in the Billings Symphony Orchestra since 1989, retiring from that organization in August of 2018. I also played flute and piccolo in various ensembles including the Yellowstone Chamber Players and the Rimrock Opera. I have retired from those positions as well, and now play for my own pleasure!

Personal life: I have been married to my husband Daniel since 1984. I love to read and play with my dogs and ride my horses, Flynn and Jack, every chance I get!
