The Lockhart ISD Shared Leadership Model is defined as a culture where people are entrusted with responsibility, leaders have the time and space to lead at a strategic level, plus everyone gets more coaching to support their development. Over time, this creates a true leadership pipeline by providing aspiring leaders with stretch assignments and practice handling challenging situations that are critical to their growth.
The LISD Shared Leadership Model is built on four levels of leadership that sets the foundation to share leadership responsibilities. It also recognizes and acknowledges there is a shift in skills, values and time that occur as one moves into the next level of leadership. The model is structured to leverage coaching and support at each shift to grow people into the next role resulting in providing a transparent, growth-focused approach to the pipeline
The four leadership levels are defined below:
Leader of Self is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
Leader of Others/Teams is responsible for the growth and results of other people
Leader of Leaders is responsible for results and growth in leaders who lead others.
Leader of the Organization is accountable for the outcomes and growth for the campus/district.
