AP Biology Calculator Policy Update

Students taking the 2018 AP Biology Exam may use a four-function (with square root), scientific, or graphing calculator. Previously only four-function calculators were allowed. For details about acceptable calculators, see the AP calculator policy.

There are many reasons to take AP courses. You’ll have the opportunity to:

The cost of AP exams

Usually, students who receive free or reduced lunch pay $40 per exam. All other students typically pay $100 per exam. The state legislators, along with the Texas Education Agency, usually decide the rebates and other deductions for students sometime close to Spring Break.

Taking Advanced Placement courses and exams truly give students a head start on college while still in high school. Not only is the experience of taking challenging AP courses beneficial to students, but taking the national AP exams can help students to gain college course credit and placement into more advanced programs of study.
