Local 5124 in DC
Two of our members attended the IAFF Legislative Conference to lobby on behalf of fire fighters and fire fighter issues including PFAS contamination, cancer coverage for line of duty deaths, and fire fighter free speech. President Biden addressed the conference and told personal stories of his local fire department in Delaware assisting his family before outlining laws signed this past year to assist firefighters with cancer and protect them from PFAS in firefighting foams and bunker gear.
New Tower 24 and shop pushback ceremony
Local 5124 was please to participate in the pushback ceremony and opening of the new SACFD maintenance shop. The Tower, a 100 ft. Pierce Arrow, is the first platform aerial in the SACFD fleet since the late 1970s. The fleet maintenance shop is located next to Station 4 and services all of the apparatus of SACFD and Northglenn Ambulance.
Fire Beats DPD Again
The team beat PD 3-1 in the 2019 "Guns and Hoses" game as part of the Public Safety Night with the Colorado Rapids.
Fire beats PD in first Guns and Hoses event at DSGP.
The game marks the first event in partnership with DPD and the Colorado Rapids. Fire beat PD 6-1.
L5124 and SACFD sign CBA
Chief Kevin Vincel holds the signatory page of South Adams County Fire and IAFF Local 5124's first collective bargaining agreement with Board President Alex Fairfield, L5124 President Nick Graff, and L5124 Sec/Tres. Augdon Greening.
SOFTBALL TEAM TAKES FIRST PLACE
Congratulations to our own Derby Devils softball team who won the Detective Curt Holland Memorial Softball Tournament yesterday. Five games in one day! Just a grueling day on the field. Well done!
