Hello and welcome to your 7th Grade Language class at Mesa Middle School! My name is David Osterbauer and I’ll be your language teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. In this class you will be asked to read and analyze a varied selection of both fiction and nonfiction materials. You will read at least one novel. You will write narratives, essays (with an emphasis on the argumentative essay), stories, poetry, and more. You’ll do some public speaking as well. We’ll also throw a smattering of art in along the way. By involving yourself in this class you’ll be developing your literacy skills and exploring rich and diverse stories, and reading about literary works that affect our nation and the world.
