Just like in a real life classroom, a student may need time to reflect on their comments. You can mute students and turn off classroom comments if you need to. If you mute students or classes, they can still communicate with you privately via Google Classroom, they just can't post class comments. If you do mute a student, I suggest that you let them know they can still communicate with you and let them know why they have been muted and what they need to improve on to become unmuted. If you turn off commenting for an entire class, I would also let them know they can still communicate with you through private Classroom comments. I, generally, don't give my real life classes permission to post to my 'Stream' but I do allow them to comment on assignments. This can be a big help for students. Just like in class, the students may be able answer other students' questions before you can get to them. If it does get to be too much, however, use the GIFs below. You can also delete inappropriate comments.
