Strategic Planning Process

At the November 21, 2023 meeting, the Board of School Directors approved a contract with Insight Education Group to facilitate the district's process to develop a Strategic Plan for 2024-2029.  This selection was made after a Request for Proposals was issued from August 30-September 30, 2023.  Ten firms submitted proposals, which were discussed at the October 17, 2023 Board meeting. Three firms were asked to provide presentations to the School Board at the November 8, 2023 Board Meeting, at which Insight Education Group was selected as the finalist for the contract to provide strategic planning services.

A Steering Committee consisting of Board members, administrators, community members, teachers, support staff, parents/guardians, and students is assisting in this effort. The Steering Committee’s role is to provide support and guidance in the development of the strategic plan. Members provide expertise and input representative of their sector. Steering Committee members should:

• Understand the elements and expected outcomes of the strategic plan;

• Appreciate the plan’s significance for the district and community;

• Be genuinely interested in the project and the outcomes that are intended; and

• Serve as an ambassador for the strategic plan by doing what they can to promote it.

The Steering Committee is meeting monthly from January-June to develop the Strategic Plan which will be presented for Board approval at the August Public Board Meeting.  Additional feedback from various stakeholders in the school community will be sought through surveys and focus groups.

Below are the presentations for the Steering Committee Meetings that are being led by Dr. Nneka Bernard from Insight Education Group as well as updates that Insight Education Group are presenting to the Board of School Directors in February, April, and June.
