Instructional Strategies

FOR ALL STUDENTS

"We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Many of the strategies we will learn about on Friday come from the ESD #189s English Language Learner Cooperative. The co-op was created to bring together ELL specialists and general education teachers (in our educational service district) and train them on best practices for ensuring the success of our ELL population. However, after several meetings, we realized that these strategies are not only good for our ELL students but all students--they are those practices that help all students learn by lowering their affective filter and engaging their whole person. With that in mind, we look forward to sharing our learning with you this Friday for our building led, professional development. Also, don't forget to sign up for an option in breakout session #1 and an option in breakout session #2 (below).
